Walking through the reserve, it is hard to believe that this forest was only just replanted in 2002. The relatively small but thriving forest houses palms as in older and primeval forests along with a richness and composition that we did not see in any other forests close to cities or villages in Costa Rica. David, Guillermo and Cristina walked us through both the site, species and the broader stories nested within the area's restoration to a forest. I think it is safe to say that we learned more about trees and wildlife during these hours than we did on the rest of our entire trip through Costa Rica. Can only highly recommend to visit.
"Oasis Reforestation Reserve seeks to recover the diversity and complexity characteristic of a Caribbean lowland tropical forest, one of the most complex ecosystems on the planet. We will add our knowledge to this audable effort by generating a living collection of native tropical palms to promote their conservation research, and appreciation by local communities"

"Oasis Reforestation Reserve is the best restoration project I have seen: structurally functional, documented, with a large collection of native palms, a real environmental enrichment logic and educational focus. Together with Oasis Virgin Reserve they will be part of BIOTA, a platform that allows forest owners to create digital assets of the ecosystem services generated on their farms"
